ok guys this is all new and very difficult for me. 1st off my husband is getting sentenced on december 5th for 2 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child back from 2003. no outcry was made til 2009. he took a plea because he couldnt stand to see me or our daughter without him for life. he is considered a 1st time offender. his criminal record is spotless...my need for help comes now...what can i expect when we go to trial? I mean am i going to be without him for the rest of my life or what? im at such a loss right now and i see posts that loved ones are coming home...do i have a shot in hell of ever being happy and in his arms again? does our daughter ever get to see her daddy again without a sheet of glass separating them?
If I am hearing you correctly your husband accepted a plea deal, so there will not be a trial, just a sentencing. With that being said the charges themselves have mandatory sentencing requirements. Was there any sort of adjustments made in the plea deal for good behavior? Your husband's attorney should be able to speak with you about what agreements were made and what to expect at the sentencing for both of you.
We are all in this crazy boat of collective fear together. I am sorry you and your husband have to go through this, but your are not alone. And there are many of us here willing and ready to do what we can to make it better for others in the future, so don't give up and don't give in!!
You will most-likely see your husband again, even in visitation depending on the sentence itself. Keep loving yourself and your family. We are here if you need support :).
