Keep talking it out, any worries at all, with friends and family who understand or on here if they don't. Right now you need all the support you can.
To be honest it does not matter what happened behind closed doors. What matters is your support. Your son made a choice good or bad.
There are always two sides to a story. As much as i love my son.....i also believe women have a right to not be violated.
We have to teach our sons. We have to teach our daughters as well.
As a mother i love my children. Even if they mess up. I will support them no matter what. I may not condone their behavior but i will love them none the less.
My daughters boyfriend raped a woman. I still love him. I know he messed up. But i support him. I wish it didnt happen. I would be planning my daughters wedding right now, instead of visiting him in prison.
Life is wacked sometimes. It is how we deal with it. It is about forgiving. It is about love.
I pray for you.
Keep us updated.
You are right, it's crappy how men are at a disadvantage. And even with lack of evidence can still get a person convicted.
Merry Christmas!
My nephew got himself in a mess with a girl he met online who originally told him she was 21. They exchanged some very sexual pictures on their cell phones. Turns out the girl was only 14 and my nephew was sentenced to 8-1/2 to 25 years. He's been in for 4 years now - he never even laid a physical hand on the girl or saw her in person --- ever. She even admitted to lying about her age. The courts are really skewed against guys and don't even seem to want to listen to the "victim" when they admit they had a hand in the wrong doing.
We can only hope that one day they become more fair and open to hearing the entire story before handing down such harsh sentences.
