my letter to the ACLU

Dear Kitt a while ago i had sent you a Email in regards to about needing help because i was being forced from my home due to the fact that i am a RSO.while reading the news online today this story caught my eye http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=8128621 i am quite sure that you are aware of this story.as i watched the news report i became disgusted and outraged because behind this woman who is in this country ILLEGALLY was this huge banner with ACLU all over it.not only that they are going to allow this woman who i say again is in this county ILLEGALLY to stay! something is wrong with this picture so you are saying that since this woman is a victim of domestic violence she has more rights in this country then i do?? that's what it seems like to me where where you guys when I begged for help? what about my civil rights? what ever happened to due process for me? huh? when 2 sheriff deputies showed up at my home and DEMANDED i let them into my house without a search warrant? not only did they force their way into my home by saying "since you don't want us in you must have something to hide" they also made me turn on my computer and they checked my files all without a warrant where where you then? you guys are suppose to help AMERICANS with their freedoms and their civil rights my oldest son is in Iraq right now for this country at one time i myself was willing to fight and die if need be for this country i am not on parole nor probation you know these sex offender laws not only violate my civil rights but they are UNCONSTITUTIONAL and you know it! they violate the ex post facto clause in not only the state but the US constitution you know as well as i do that these laws are punitive in nature why wont you help?? you need to go to this site here http://www.dailystrength.org/groups/families-of-sex-offenders and read the horror stories that some of these families are going thru i am not saying that we do not need these laws what i am saying is people who have already done their time should be able to move on with their lives yes some people should be in jail for what they have done but come on! i am ashamed to call myself an American i don't understand how you people can call yourself an organization for people's liberty and civil rights but refuse to help a certain class of people and not only that you are willing to stand up for someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY and the strange thing about it it seemed like the people in YOUR organization were PROUD to help her out help me to understand this please? please i am at a loss for words here i would very much like your feedback on this let's see how many AMERICANS ( on that site i asked you to check out) you are willing to help Regards

I agree the ACLU has an Agenda and we are not one it and can expect no help from them. The ACLU like a lot of groups are not standing by its founding principles and are doing only what is popular for donations. If the ACLU tried to fight for the SO's on principle, donations would dry up and their respectabillity would be in question. The ACLU stood for the civil rights movements but their backbone has long since disapeared.

Yes I had a feeling that is why they did not want to help me i was told it was because "they had no funds available" in short being on the side of a RSO is very unpopular with the people so all of your rights that are suppose to be guaranteed to you under the US Constitution are gone.It just upset me when i saw the news about this woman who had the ACLU on her side it just. sorry for my language ladies but it just PISSED me off they drill it in your head from the moment you first start school how this great country of ours had its beginnings how we have this great Constitution and bill of rights and how it is your right as a AMERICAN to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.and how many people fought and died for said same US Constitution but you can be here in this country breaking the law because you are not here legal yet have a organization like the ACLU backing you up and someone born here gets treated like again ladies sorry for my use of words. Shit.sorry red but i had to vent

I am old enough to remember the fight the ACLU put up in the 60's and 70's for Civil Rights . Now they are part of the establishment. It is kind of like when you elect someone to congress, they arrive with all these new ideas and hope only to realize the world is not ideal . Little by little they conform and blend into being what they got elected to fight. If the ACLU fought for us it would lose funding from donors and would again face turmol and a negative image. The ACLU is not the organization it once was and in conformist these days.

WOW! I'm shocked! In Indiana, the ACLU has stood up for SO's! I've had the privilege to meet with many of them at seminars based on SO and prisoners rights. It's sad that each state has their own agenda. I honestly trust our ACLU headquarters here. They have several lawsuits right now and have won many for SO rights in Indiana. I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that Kathleen Sweeney with Indiana ACLU was the litigator in the Wallace case. In which defines the registry as being punitive! Which, will pave the way for all of us to appeal and fight the registry!

If not the ACLU, then who do we have as a group to stand and fight for us? I am so glad to hear that in Indiana it is different. Good leadership in every organization is the key but surely they have a mission statement that pertains to every single state across the board? After all, ACLU is a national organization.
