I brought him to treatment last night, because the PO insisted. I gave the therapist the paper from the court that says he's Not to take treatment, only Mental Health .
And then he asked what happened and my son started out. He spoke with me in the room. It was our first trip there and it was a private session.
My son told him that he didn't do anything and went to prison. And I told him about my son accidentally downloading the 2 cp along with the 2330 music videos thru LimeWire. And how the Feds thought all those videos were 'suspect co' and sent 11 ICE agents to storm his home, putting a gun to his head and he 'confessed' saying that he saw those 2 there.
He listened and he believed us. Saying that he didn't want to force anyone to come see him but he understood, at this point in my son's probation the PO insisted. And that we're trying to get this cleared up . if he has to go see him it would be for Mental Health and not SO treatment.
There was a clause in there that said mental health treatment alone..but included a poly and we were all confused about that. But we concluded that the government doesn't really know what they're doing.
So, he was cool and on board. He understands my son is innocent and he's there for either the SO treatment and Mental health, whichever it ends up as.
My son was first pissed off before we got there but he expected to be sitting across from someone who did not believe him and who asked 'why did you do it',.. just like his PO.
Now it's up to our attorney.
My son has another 'treatment' next week.

Glad your son got in with someone who believes him. It is really important to be believed. Even if you son has to keep dealing with a crap P.O. at least he knows someone else is on his side.

He said most of the ones who come to him are about cp. A lot downloaded by accident yet they weren't fortunate enough to get that out from the judge like my son did. Not everyone can afford to take their son to get an assessment with a specialist like we did, and the forensics helped. Those.. 1 trip to the specialist and 2 forensics cost me $7500.
Most people just have to deal with this and make the best of it.
My son talked about the PDST they labeled him as, and I think going to see this guy would really help him deal with some of that stuff. Before my son signed the consent forms Chris asked him if he felt ok being there. My son said that Chris seemed like a reasonable and intelligent guy and that he was on board.

Have him try group. Misery does love company. If it doesn't work for him, he can go back to 1 on 1.
As for thanking me, not necessary. We are all here to help with the knowledge and personal experience we have among us.
Not knowing is something a lot of us have experienced with this. Information is important.
