Good! They don't care about families anyways....they don't care about safety, otherwise they would look at the statistics that prove that these restrictions do not prevent crime, it's just another way to punish those convicted...but of course I am preaching to the choir.

I wish I had more time to keep up on the progress of these kinds of lawsuits. See how they turn out... this is still in the preliminary stages of the legal system and it will be years before it is concluded usually in you include any appealing at all.

Glad to hear that someone is filing something though... Getting the right case to present that has the potential to help everyone is always a good thing.

wow think about it if this person wins think bout the back lash it will cause and it will bring a lot of SO laws into question in regards to the constitution it does not take a law professor to see that these laws violate the US Conitution

NY, as with most states, make lifetime registration mandatory. I was released and signed papers with a registration period of ten years for a Level II. If I receive papers to update my info on the registry ... I plan on suing.

I want to sue on the grounds of double jeopardy. It was written as Law at the time of my release and remained until two years after my discharge from parole that I was under the ten-year period. In 2006, a lifetime registration was enacted. In 2006, NY decided to change Level IIs to lifetime!!!

I am tired of believing that I would've been done under my former agreement. Does anyone feel that I have something to go on??

p.s. a Level One in NY must register for 20 years. Twice as long as the old Level II period.

Hi suchaslife :) I've been researching lawyers and I think I'm looking for a newer one looking to make a name for him or herself. I haven't tried the ACLU yet either. I feel the time is right for me to act on this. A revolt against these oppressive laws is going to unleash soon! My 13th year anniversary hopes to be the most unlucky for this Hell Hole of a state!
