thanks for posting it.
Is his case in LA or TX? If the offense was in LA they do not have to accept his case. My fiance's was in a different state as well, but since he is from TX and his support system is here, when he got out of jail he moved back and they took it. Paying probation in LA has no effect in TX, just the good feeling that he is making an effort. Also, be aware that there is an interstate compact fee. I'm not sure what it is now, but my fiance's was $300. I also don't know if he will have to pay the $250 registry fee. I know this is a one time thing, if he paid it for LA, I'm not sure if he'll have to pay it again to be on the TX one.
Another thing. Is he in group therapy? If he is, know that he will have to start from square one. That stuff does not transfer. We have been having a heck of a time with that. We want to move out of this county, but if we do, he has to start over. It's awful. If he is in group therapy, there a lot of things he'll have to do to get in and get out. If you want I can give you info on that as well.
Are you talking a home visit in TX? I'm not sure what they would be looking for honestly. I would avoid having anything that would be related to kids around. No alcohol. (I don't know what his offense is, you don't need to tell me. Just, everything is to protect the children, no matter what the offense is.)
I hope this helps some. If you have any more questions I will try my best to help :)
BTW - Why are a lot of folks on the board posting that someone was arrested and or convicted but not for CP? I have seen this lately in a few threads and I am just wondering what is behind that clarification?
Shortly thereafter, the alleged victim and her mother filed a suit to seize his property in another Texas County. I state alleged as we have it on very reliable sources that this was a vendetta against him imposed by his ex girlfriend and her daughter so that they could get him to marry her as they liked his money. She would drop charges if he would talk to her and was calling him. He wanted nothing to do with them hence these allegations.
To make a long story short, he sold his home in Travis County to pay the lawyers and declared his camp at the foothills of Texas Hill Country as his homestead. Travis County is transferring his case to the new county where he resides and they are coming over to make a home visit to see if they will accept his case. We are wondering as to what that visit will entail and how can a decision be made to not accept your case even though you own your property. THIS IS HELL! Isn't it bad enough that you have to have your name and mugshot on a list forever?
As for the not CP comment, it's because I am reading so much about this in the news that it seems like this is the new buzzword around. Every time I turn around someone else is being accused of CP and it seems like the other alleged levels are being ignored. In my opinion, this whole RSO is becoming ridiculous. We are a society that tends to go overboard with zealously and vengeance and throw reason out to the wind. Will all these people end up in prison? Really??! So we are now incarcerating men period! We get mad at a man and we can start drumming up accusations and off the system goes to nab them.
I am for victims rights, trust me. I have been wronged myself, however, I cannot stand it that we have a run away legal system on the sex offender issues. I have seen up close and personal where a DA takes a charge without evidence and runs forth. Thank God for a judge who saw past that and went straight to probation. I was told that I even had to worry because she's hell bent on taking her pound of flesh since he did not marry her. LOVELY!
I thank you all who have taken the time to answer my question.
But if he is out in the country, away from the world, they will probably not put up much fuss. But they can't say he can live there until they have 'approved' the place he is going to live.
I believe the "not for CP" clarification is because, or so it seems, the majority of cases here are CP related. They are the new, low level drug users.
