Mark Flowers contacted the CURE office and president Charlie Sullivan to seek help in getting participants for research on former offenders who were able to gain employment upon release. Here is his message to CURE and the recruitment notice is attached. Note, Dianne has been CURE's ACA representative for a long time. Wayne

Hi Charlie,
I hope you remember me from ACA. Dianne Tramutola-Lawson of Colorado CURE gave me your e-mail address and suggested that I contact you as I desperately need assistance from CURE.
I am finishing up my Ph.D. dissertation and need help. I am conducting research on ex-offenders who spent a minimum of five years in prison and then got out and were able to find employment which paid them enough to support themselves and/or a family.
I need between 10-15 participants total and only have three so far, which all came from Colorado.
Would you be willing to send my recruitment flyer to your CURE reps and see if they can assist me with finding potential applicants?
Charlie, I want to thank you in advance for any assistant you and CURE can provide.
Dianne has been a great supporter and has helped in many ways.
Please feel free to call me if you have any question.
Thanks, Mark Flowers

Maybe someone here on Daily Strength could reach out and help with information about your own experiences?

I hope at lease a few people are employed and willing to respond in order to help "Re-entry" for the next guy getting out and looking for work, hoping to put life back together...
If in doubt, if you one of those brave registrants thinking about doing this please contact the researcher direct at 804-380-5764 or by e-mail at: mflowers1@capellauniversity.edu and ask for specifics. So far she has only two people and they both live in Colorado. She needs n=more people with more information about struggles to find employment in other states.
When in pain, reach out and try to help someone else on Daily Strength Families of Sez Offenders. Isn't that what all this is really all about. Isn't that exactly why 300 people already took the Survey in the first place?
If you are someon who possible can step up for this please also contact the researcher direct at 804-380-5764 or by e-mail at: mflowers1@capellauniversity.edu

In short, you are someone who served at leas 5 years in prison, employed and thinking about stepping up again for this too, please contact the researcher direct at 804-380-5764 or by e-mail at: mflowers1@capellauniversity.edu
I'd do it but I don't know if I qualify. I got a six year sentence but got out at three.
I e-mailed Wayne back and said I'd try to get the word out so go ahead and pass this around to other contacts if you want. Put all these tiny little bits of good together and maybe some bigger good will come around...Who Knows? Like a few people will be less automatically prejudiced. Maybe think we are human etc???
