Man - hindsight is always 20/20 but if I could go back to the late 90s I would avoid the internet like the plague - the cost (and I do not mean monetary) is too high. The internet and other technology has done more to erode freedom in the World more than any other thing in history (in my opinion)

Spot on Advocate! The world revolves around the internet these days. Long gone is the saying "today's newspaper, tomorrows chip wrapper". Information is available forever, it never goes away. Everyone is so reliant on Facebook and Twitter they don't see the world around them. Is it a good thing they can access our history? I have no idea, for 2 years our IP address was monitored unknown to me. It frightens me just how much they knew and how much more they could know. I don't worry as I have nothing to hide but I do like my privacy. That's something I wont have back and would never wish it on anyone else.

I think it's unfortunate how many people are tied to a mobile device. This is a wonderful, beautiful, funny world, that deserves our attention while we're here.

I've said this many, many times.... Technology has and i8s evolving faster than our means to absorb it's impact to our lives or to react to the legal ramifications.

It's not just the internet but things like Patent law, Digital Rights Management, electronics available in our cars, medical law suits, Privacy, electronic entertainment in our homes, the GMO foods we eat, food and vitamin supplements, and yes, cell phones. I could go on and on. Everything I've just mentioned is being driven by the all mighty dollar $$$ The more money, the faster our lives change. Just look at our political process. Our founding fathers must be rolling over in their graves. We are blinded by technology to the point that we don't know what to do with ourselves when the power goes out! We wouldn't be able to survive a week without Walmart!

No, I do not think it is a good thing that they can access are history at all. More and more info comes out each days about information that is being kept and accessed by things like Google and FB, etc. I also found out that they were monitoring my internet connection before the arrest for quite a while. Thanks to the Patriot Act (in the USA) they did not need a warrant to do that either ...
