Information from local officer over sex offenders

I asked on answering machine, the rules here because I am trying to find a place to live where my son will be allowed to live when released.  Here is my reply

So where's he suppose to shop ? Anyone got anything  on this?

Wow, that is pretty restrictive. I live in Florida and much of that sounds familiar to what my soon to be ex had to deal with when he was out. All except the arcade bit/WalMart part. He had no business in the arcade but WalMart would be fine. Movie theaters were ok too, even though there are "arcades"/game machines there. The whole mall is off limits, too? Wow. I can see the playground area of a McDonalds being off limits, but McDonalds????

What is really amazing about all of this is.....the people on the SO/SP parole that are subject to these restrictions aren't the one's who are the danger to society! smh

Yea I know Right? I mean where is he suppose to shop for food or clothes? Almost everywhere has small arcade type games. And I think that's rediculous.

The residency requirement & restrictions are the same in Missouri. From my understanding, Missouri & Florida are the worse states for SOs to live.

You might try moving if you can. Also here is a site with a list of 50 states and what their laws are concerning SO. The thing is that with a church, such a prohibition will likely be held by the federal courts to be a violation of the 1st Amendment anti-establishment clause. The reason why is because such a prohibition could be construed as the state sponsoring religion to minors, which the government is prohibited from doing by the U.S. Constitution. It could also be held to violate the freedom of practice clause of the 1st Amendment as well, under similar related theory. Notably, I can find no case where this has been brought up in actual litigation, however.

Thankyou everyone, I've not been in the group for awhile. I can't get passed the depression of all this. It seems like a dark cloud that won't go away.
