was nice wasn't it. and i experienced some of that over the weekend the snobby better than you person at my church. it hurt deeply to the point i dont feel comfortable going back. and i told them so. my pastor sent me a message afterwards saying for me to reconsider coming back because I would find no other church more acceptive of my sons sex offence charges. sad

Wonderful. I have not been to church since 2005. During that time, me and my x wife were having financial problems. We both worked, but were over our heads with bills. She and her mom went to the pastor and told him I was financially un-fit as a husband....he brought me and my x-wife and her mom in for a meeting - he looked at my x-wife and said "If i was you I would leave him now....he is a worthless husband...I want you to move in with your mother for 90 days and I want him to turn over his pay check to you every two weeks and you are to call me and let me know if he does.........I really think you may want to consider a divorce. He is a worthless husband"...........

Keep in mind I was sitting right here......and all of this because we were over drafted on our checking by $103.00!!!!! Her mom always tithed the church every Sunday for the past 15 years, however I was only a member for 2 years..........she moved in with her mom.........but she also found a new guy while we were still married..............she ended up pregnant, and then she filed for divorce a year later...concealing her pregnancy of course from the divorce court.......I never knew she was pregnant during the divorce, but found a letter from the state saying she was approved for medicaid due to pregnancy.......however, her church stood behind her with open arms.....amazes me.........I love God, and put no one before God, but i will NEVER trust man again........I guess adultery doesn't matter as much as a over drafted checking account.

sorry to hear the Dreams, that is sad. I am sure not all churchs are like that but i know if we put our trust in mankind we will always come up ultimately disappointed. we must keep our eyes on Christ. but Gods people can hurt you the most sometimes because that is where you don't expect pain. but we have to forgive and go on with life and serve the Lord anyways. but yea i understand i was hurt really bad, especially since my son was arrested. we already know what he done was wrong we don't need people from Gods church to hammer it in to our hearts how much they think he deserves to be put away for ever. that is only pilling huet upon hurt and is uncalled for. but I am not giving up on Jesus.

@Dreams: My jaw was on my lap as I read what you wrote above. I am at a loss of words.
All I can say is that it was an organized group of religious extremists who went after Jesus. They are all around, and they are to be avoided. I'm just glad that you haven't lost your faith in God in the process.

That's horrible that the pastor said that...even though the holier-than-thou woman said all those hateful things to you, he had the audacity to say that was the only church that would be accepting of your situation? If that's considered accepting in his eyes, then I'd run as far away as I could in the opposite direction! I'm thankful for my tiny country church...almost everyone there knows our situation and still accepts us with open arms...but I know quite a few churches are more along the lines of your church's "accepting", unfortunately. It makes me quite sad and explains why so many people turn their backs on christianity. Just remember, though, you don't have to go to an organized church to go to church and have fellowship...the Bible states if 2 or more people come together in His name, that's all that matters.

I left my last church because of people judging me for staying with hub. It's a mega church, but over the years, the membership has been decreasing. I so desperately wanted to send this to the old pastor, but didn't.

I too sent an email to him when I left telling him my feelings about the church. He tried to disagree that it is a church of love that they accept everyone. When I told him hub was a SO, he didn't respond back - his silence spoke louder than anything he said on the pullpet.

oh my gosh Thoughts, thats so sad, we do need to stick together, and remember God has not left us he is with us, we must learn from our experience and teach the world what real love is. It is not organized religion thats for sure. It is Jesus Christ and him crucified for our sins. yes even sex offenders. amen?

I come from a strong LDS family. I have been inactive for a few years now. Now that we just bought a new house and are getting settled in, I would like to go back to church. My SO husband is Catholic. I worry what my new bishop and ward members will say when they find out his status. Will they ban me from the church?

fishinswim i myself have become inactive and need to start going back again there are only a few people in my ward who know about my past and they have been very supportive of me threw the whole thing and only time your bishop will find out about your husbands past is only if you want to tell him that is totally up to you to tell him just remember each bishop is different one could be who cares and another could blow his top and raise hell about him being there it also depends on how long they have known you for so if you want to say something say it if not don't
