The statute of limitations has run out. The state has one year after the filing of a complaint by the "victim" in which to prosecute prior criminal allegations of sexual abuse. Once a minor turns 18 they, (the minor not the state), have ten years in which to divulge the sexual abuse and then the state has one year after that to indict.

as far as i know there have been a number of catholic priest's out here in California that have been tracked down tried and convicted on sex abuse from decades ago people are now bringing charges against them people way past the age of 18 as i recall some of them are in their early to late thirties so i really do not see how i am deflecting at all

All I can say is it seems the more power and money you have the more you can get away with, in this world......

TYLER, Texas (AP) — A foster parent awarded custody of three young siblings allegedly forced into sex at swinger parties has been accused of sexually abusing a child in California in 1991.

John Orville Cantrell, 64, has been charged with sexual penetration of a person under 14 and a lewd act upon a child, Marsha Johnson of the Solano County District Attorney's Office in California said Friday.

The complaint against Cantrell was filed May 9, she said. Cantrell was taken into custody Wednesday by Wood County authorities, and Johnson said she was waiting for extradition papers to be signed.

Cantrell's wife, Margie, told the Tyler Morning-Telegraph the accusations are in retaliation for their roles in helping build the case against Mineola Swinger's Club, where authorities say children as young as 5 were taught to perform sex acts for an audience.

Margie Cantrell testified in a May trial that when she received custody of the three children, the two girls were oversexualized and the boy was angry. The children are now ages 12, 10 and 7.

"What John and I want to do is continue to seek justice for the kids in this case," Margie Cantrell said. "And if we have to climb a few mountains to get there, it will be worth it. And at the end of all this, John will absolutely be proven innocent."

Seven people have been charged with allegedly training children to perform sex acts for an audience. The two defendants tried so far have both been convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

John Cantrell said of the three siblings after the first trial, "I'm going to love them like a father."

The third trial in the swingers parties case is scheduled to get under way next week. Patrick Kelly also faces life in prison if convicted.

A court hearing in California for Cantrell has been scheduled for July 7, Johnson said OK now Dry6 can you tell me how the statute of limitations worked in this case? it says here that the guy in this case committed this crime in 1991 this story is from 2008 18 years later and charges are being brought again i say i do not see how i am "deflecting" when it comes to Schwarzenegger

The statute of limitations does not run when the accused is out of state hence the priests and the dad in TX.

That's funny because some of the priest's were still in California when they were charged and i am quite sure i can find other stories on the internet about the same thing...........
