I just received a box of my son's things from the detention center. He was moved to an assessment center and I told him to send the stuff to my work.

BAD CALL - How do you sit at the front desk knowing everything your son owned is sitting in a box in my car? I can SMELL him - oh Lord, please help me get through this day....

I'm sorry to be nosey, but how long does he have to be in the detention center? Can you visit him?

He is out of the detention center and is now being assessed for 6-8 weeks at a different facility.
No, I can't visit him. He's in Kansas and I'm in Illinois - an eight hour trip one way. My car will not make the trip and I've got four dogs one with serious health conditions. She would not survive the trip.
