My dad was told by his po that he can't see my kids til he has a mental evaluation done (he's had two aldeady). How can they tell me my kids can't see him. I didn't do anything wrong. They have no power over me. How can they say that?

They aren't saying it to you, they are saying it to him. HE has to do what they tell him... regardless of the effect of their rules on him affect anyone else.

Oh I hear your pain - that is just it - they can and they will. Him they can tell him to do anything because technically when on probation a person is considered incarcerated. Now about telling you who can be around your kids (and I hope you can see or hear the sarcasm dripping from my words) the are protecting your children for you from the evil one. In some states they have even made it a criminal offense if a parent knowingly lets a child be around a sex offender

I know how you feel. The system won't allow our minor children allowed to visit hubby, so they can protect them, but in their protecting them, they are harming our children more...and his evaluations have shown he isn't a risk.

Hear they can have visits from there kids at the prisons but the second there out its no contact whatsoever with anyone under 18!

I need to ask, I have a son on the registry, he has done his time (except the registry of course). Would it not be wise for him to be around children of the family, either, for his own protection? Just curious and need to know what kind of trouble, he/the family may face, if any. :)

Yes it would be wise for him to avoid children and to always have another adult with him when he is in the presence of children. The reason we like to tell people to not be around children is not because we think they are going to offend again. In fact, the statistics show the opposite in most situations. We tell people not to because one false allegation can land you back in jail. He will not as a registered citizen get any benefit of the doubt, but the assumption will be guilty until proven innocent.

Yes thank you Independent. We always have kept him from being alone with children, except once, I had a cow lol. He ended up babysitting for someone who didn't have a back up plan. When I found out and finished having a cow I explained why and stayed there until the regular sitter got there. He is living with my other son and his wife and children now though. I'm worried about CPS though and don't want any thing else to happen to either son (one is on CPS type supervision and the other was falsely accused and railroaded into a confession and "no contest" plea by his attorney). But as long as the adults (at least 1) are around there should not be any problems then?
