I have a son that has been accused by his family members of several sex offenses. I don't believe the accusers, only because of their history of lies, manipulation and jealousy of my son. We are now approaching the trial. I am scared for him, in depression over this whole mess, and somehow feel responsible for it all. How do I get past this point?

First of all I will say this. if you have an attorney make his show you any evidence. (discovery)
Im not one to believes attorneys so I want to see all that they have myself and not trust just the attorneys word on anything.
Show ME the proof and start there. If you dont have an attorney get one..
Prepare yourself. This isnt going to be fun or easy.

First, why do you feel responsible?

For me to get past the BS of the lies that were told to bring my husband to a conviction was to realize that while I won't be able to retaliate I know from experience that Karma will get her day. I may not be there to see it, the person receiving the karma might not know why, but I know and have faith that what goes around comes around... she lied and ruined someone's life... I expect something similar will throw a wrench in their life when they least expect it too, I just have to give it time.

Oh tears I am so sorry - I am with Thumper you need to know the evidence and this is a perfect example of what we discussing on another thread. Is this all based on they SAID it? Did he plead not guilty?

I may not be the correct person to respond to this but at first when my son was charged I also was in denial. No way! This can't be true! My son is a decorated war veteran! But I think, for most cases, the charges are true! Now I am not saying yours is but you have to be prepared in case it is. I rest easier, even though my son went to prison, coming to the point where I can admit he is guilty. Had they put him in prison an innocent man, I would have went nuts! I just wanted to point out the guilty scenario. Good luck with your sons case!
