I, too, have felt your frustration. We come here and talk but essentually we are preaching to the choir.. We are all in agreement here that our world is unfair and changes need to drastically be made. What we do get at DS is support and like-minded indivuals who understand our plight. When I started feeling like I wanted to make more of an impact or difference, I started my blog. It is not much and it took me about 20 minutes to set it up and cost me nothing. I posted it on my facebook where mainstream people (ie; the ones who don't have a clue about the real world and judge accordingly) have to see it and read it. Now, I know I have created quite a stir on there with all my "sex offender" talk and that is fine, at least they are reading it and hearing it. Since I started the blog, I have had 1,585 views and I have had 19 post. It is a small thing, really, but at least it gives me a place to write my views and a little bit feel I have been heard. Also, by having the blog, when I respond with a comment on a site, I post a link to my blog to hopefully reach more people and "enlighten" them to the truth. You would do well with a blog, I think. Just a thought. (I would help you set one up if you want to)
As far as organizing a letter writing campain for a specific issue, I would absolutly get behind that idea anytime. Anyone have any thoughts in that area?
Firecracker, your theme song is a really good one and the lyrics definatly apply here. I think you do a great job and would hate to see you give up.

Check out my blog. It is so easy to do. I had no idea how easy it was to set one up and it is free.
Don't run down the halls naked YET, ok? LOL

Check it out and if you need help, I will be glad to walk you thru it, but i will say I amazed myself that I was able to do it and I am not a computer whiz...at all.
Can not wait to read your first blog!!!!
I have to laugh! Just last night, I was ready to throw in the towel! I read the article on this forum about the movie star marrying the 16 year old girlfriend. (I think the topic was 51-15?) Anyway, I wrote about this article to the RSOL state organizers and told them I was fit to be tied!
Here is a response that I got from a well respected member of RSOL:
Kimberly,
He was 17 and she was 14?? I had no idea. It is truly absurd. Draco was
more merciful.
I have a quote for you: "A journalist of spirit is a desideratum in a
revolution." (Judge Hugh Henry Brackenridge). That odd word there is latin
for "a needed and essential element." The reality, as you well know, is
that the even the politicians who "hear" us are too feeble to stand. Our
energies are expended in vain if we forget about the value of the
press/media. I would add people of faith to this category, as well. Now, I
realize the response I would likely receive from most everyone out there.
But, what we have failed so far to do is to push the numbers into their
faces and scream at them for a sense of fairness and---here's an old
idea---intellectual HONESTY. Until we can convince the media (and moral
leaders) that relying upon unverified, non-academic statistics to justify
public policy is a pitiful approach to "self-government", then we will not
get any substantial traction in this battle.
So, what do you do? You put all your facts and statistics together in a
solid, persuasive porfolio, and you march your little band of reformers into
every editorial room in Indiana and demand an audience. You tell them that
all you're asking for is fairness....you're not asking them to join the
cause; just to report ALL of the actual facts, and stop relying on the
government's recital of facts (or at least ask the government to support the
damn things).
This battle can be won....but we need larger guns. Since we can't afford to
buy any, we have to borrow them.

My point is,,,,,,,, this person is RIGHT! How can we sit around and complain and expect anything to get done without making an effort? WE must keep persevering! It's as simple as that! Remember my motto:
It was from perseverance that the snail made it to the Ark!
Push onward my friend! Keep going until someone listens and is willing to help!
Hugs!!!!!!!

That's what I intend on doing! But, I'm going to go to Capital Hill again and to Criminal Codes committees as well.
There's a lot we can all do! Just gotta find our glitch!
