Hello,
In brief, my SO had a relationship with another women before he moved in with me. One night she came on to him. He should have walked away as he had told her about me...but he did not and while no clothes ever came off, no penetration, no oral... She claimed she was asleep while kissing him and well after a trial were her mental status, and medications were not allowed to be discussed. Were she admitted that after the kiss she walked away without saying no or pushing him off. She continued to be his roommate for a week before reporting it as an attempted rape on a person unable to give consent. Tomorrow we find ourselves at sentencing... He can no longer live with me(I have a child), he will probably face jail time, not to mention treatment which I understand is impossible to complete and I am having to take over his business. He has a good chance at appeal but it will take up to 2 years...
I am so confused... How does this happen? I have had dates that more has occurred... I feel so betrayed by the system, so broken...
Does it ever get any better?
Tonight I watched my 13 year old say goodbye to a man that has been his friend for most of his life and has lived with us for over a year...Even if this was a crime (I highly doubt it), why the child rule? OMG I don't think I have ever been so confused, lost and hopeless.
Other than this, he has never been in trouble.
Is there a future?

First let me say that treatment can be completed successfully, yes he will have rules to follow but in the end he can do it.
Try to stay focused on what needs to be done for your child and then the business.
He can and has to adapt to the change in both of your life's, it will not be a cake walk but it be accomplished with hard work from both of you if you decide to stay.
