I was notified this morning that my son was transported to the Orlando Reception Center this morning. I was told by someone yesterday that first 24 hours are the roughest due to the guards trying to break their spirits. I did get to talk to my son last night. He sounded good but he was saying he thought he had another week here. I guess not. Please keep my son "JAH" in your prayers. Thank you.

Going to reception was the hardest transition in the system we had. When in reception, he was housed with GP, and not able to make calls. I was lucky in that I was approved to visit pretty quickly, most people are are not approved until they are in main line. I pray the Lord will keep a hand of protection over your son.

Thank you ThoughtAsWeak. We are in Florida so he will be in GP from this point on at least he will try to be. The only other option is PC which is confinement. He has a cover story and he carries himself very well. He has called me every night since he has been incarcerated but I know it will be awhile before he can call me. I knew this day was coming but it is still brings a lot of different emotions with it.

The transition is hard on those in prison and us that is for sure. And you are right about the emotions. Hugs

Reception was tough for my own son. I hope that your son has a better time then my did in California. He got jumped by 4 guys. Just make sure your son has a cover story. Encourage him not to share or reveal what he is in for. Us moms have got to stick together. I will pray for your son.

Honestly so far (knock on wood) reception has not been too bad for my husband yet. Hopefully it continues that way and is that way for your son as well.

Thank you everyone for your support. Tears4son3, I am so sorry about your son. I will be praying for your son as well. DaisyMae8, I am glad it is going okay (know on wood again) for your husband. My son has a cover story and hopefully there are no problems. This part is definitely hard because I don't know what is going on with him. I sent him a letter this morning as his DOC # was on the website today. His picture hasn't been uploaded yet and I am bracing for that. I am going to write him every day right now even if it is just a few lines letting him know I am thinking of him and praying for him. HUGS TO ALL OF YOU!
