Hi Everyone!  It has been a long while since i have checked in!  My son made parole after 5 years of his 20 year sentence.  This has been a crazy experience for me as a mom.  I can only imagine how it has been for my son.   I have withdrawn myself alot from everyone ( here included)  I still blame myself for not being a better mom, for not knowing what was going on in my sons life.  

I will say that he did use his time in prison by taking college classes and trying to work towards doing better.  He will have been inside for 6 years when he is released.  He made parole in Jan.  the terms were 9 months from May 2019. Our best guess he should be home around March next year.  I had gotten over the anxiety attacks and worry until this.  Now i am worried about him finding a job and how people will treat him. How or if he will adjust back to the free world without alot of issues. He has changed so much,  the little things anger him so fast now.  He is no longer that boy who has his heart on his sleeve.  I pray that he has learnt his lesson and will learn how to control his urges for CP.   He is so young and has so much of his life ahead of him.  

We are in Texas.  I am open for anyone that has suggestions on how to help him handle this adjustment as well as for me and his dad.  He will parole out to our home.  I feel pretty certain he will have to attend counsling classes once a week.  Is there something i should be prepared for or a way to help him be prepared.
