so he is more likely to offend because he has a dorm of autism??? That offends me! Also they talk about lowering the level but will that take him off the registry? And why does the judge get to make the assesment based on a mental condition?

Very well written article, parts of which mirror my family life.

This is one of the saddest cases I have read about in a long time. Imagine the hurdles this young man had to jump to have as normal a life as he had, given his Autism. Then, to have it all taken away because he unknowingly downloaded some pictures of girls near his age doing inappropriate things.

I don't often get angry, but this really steams me up. Our system is pathetic! In a case like this, there should be mandatory education and maybe supervised community service. Maybe supervision of computer time for a while, but NOT THIS! My God. What is this world coming to!

This really frustrates me! What is wrong with this system??? Instead of trying to help people we end up making them more dependent on others instead of less. Thank goodness he has a family that loves and cares for him, what happens to the people that aren't so lucky? This ludicrous!

This is common. If you have any type of mental disorder you end of with a higher tier or level. The Lawyers say they can keep you out of prison but it is worse to take their advice and say you are handicapped and there are many that get caught up in this mess. We live in a cruel world.
