Jenny,
We read with interest your accounts of the Parkers cold blooded murder. Trouble was, you neglected to refer to it in that manner. What a shocker. You also provided ample column space replete with photos to the murderers and their sad rants of their own sickening acquittal. If this were any other couple other than that of one who included a man on the South Carolina sanctioned “Hit List” aka the sex offender registry, you would have been at your keyboard dreaming of a Pulitzer as you hammered out a scathing piece on the heartlessness of such an act. But your readers didn’t put down their paper and morning coffee feeling any outrage did they? They weren’t challenged to look in the mirror at their own intolerance and hate, were they? Nah…they just tuned into the bankable term “Sex Offender” and said to themselves “good riddance” as they took another Maxwell House sip.

Why is it that you, like so many submissive scribes these days, take the easy, sensational, and sadly bankable way out of what is a profoundly disturbing example of hateful and murderous behavior, rather than calling it what it is: A horrible “hate crime” perpetrated by yet another twisted and insidious faction of our ironically pious society?

We’d like an answer.

Have you taken the time to peruse the comments left by your most charitable readers? And if you did read them, did it occur to you that the same comments would’ve most assuredly accompanied the stories detailing the hanging of Blacks in 1963 Mississippi?

Are you aware that there are almost 800,000 registrants on the national “Hit list”? Are you aware of just how many offenses can land a person on the “Hit List” (many of which could easily be applied to most adults and teens)? Are you aware there are children as young as 7 on the list…and that the registry is littered with hundreds of thousands of those under 18. And that they too are afraid to answer their own door due to the fear of being murdered?
Do you see anything wrong with this picture, or are you one who agrees with your commenters?

We’d like an answer.

Will you have the temerity to look at both sides of the issue and the issues the registrants and their families face i.e. Murder, fear, homelessness, despair, trampled or amputated rights, depression and suicide (many of them affected children)?

We’d like an answer.

And just who are WE?

We are W.A.R (Women Against the Registry). We are now monitoring all modes of mass communication and calling out publicly the media for their part in making life a living hell for over 3 million women and children, with no accountability, consequence or conscience.

Tell us, if it were your brother and sister who were brutally murdered and the perpetrators were being honored for the act ...what then would you write,Jenny?
