I would get out of there asap if possible.
This is your life. Don't let your parents dictate how you will live. They're not living the life you are. Be strong. I don't blame you for ranting.
I moved from Floriduh before my son was released there because of all those issues.
I spent months doing research on this before I made my move out of there. You really need to know, don't just take a leap of faith.
You might want to look at this. It also says your husband will stay on the Floriduh registry even if he moves somewhere else. These laws are crazy so it's helpful to find a lawyer who understands all this before you make a move.
From what I've read your husband would also be lifetime where you move.. but check on that. Call the police/ sheriff department in Florida and the state where you want to move. This is your life. Be proactive, be educated because now your husband might end in prison for violation of probation. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse, they don't care.
Don't try to make the parents understand, they may not want to understand, as it isn't what they want. My parents tried to control me for years, and did things to please them. Once hubby was arrested, and I was in counciling, I was able to address that - and stopped trying to please them. If they don't like my choices, then tough luck on them, as I am doing what is best for me, and my children.
Because of the registry - you have to be a bit self-centered. It's the best way to survive. I am just speaking from experience.
Grandchildren - a very powerful guilt trip. I am so sorry. My concern is that moving back to Virginia, while a better solution, has a snag. Florida will keep your man on the registry for life. Because he has a failure to register in Florida, this will probably come with you to Virginia if/when you move back. That being said, being in Virginia is a lot better than Florida.
