After 8 years of having no direct contact with FL my PO here is telling me to form a letter requesting an early termination of probation. I just hate the idea of having an contact with FL I'm now living in MA and am very happy here. True it's real great idea early end of probation but still (FL) yuck

I understand how you feel - did they give a reason. So you are really still on probation in FL even though you live in MA?

I know you don't want to deal with FL but the only entity that can end your probation early is the court, a letter won't do it. You'll have to either petition the court as a pro se defendant and travel to FL for the hearing or hire an attorney in FL to represent you in which case you might not have to be there for the hearing (But there's a good chance you still will)

This is a sample motion with instructions published by a public defender's office. The public defender's office can't represent anyone in this unless appointed by the court which can be done but that's an additional motion that would have to be filed pro se and you would absolutely have to be there for the hearing.

My son's case was transferred here from Floriduh to PA. When my son decides to petition the court to get his probation cut back it will be here in PA.

Wasn't your case transferred to MA?

Not sure what my PO has in mind but I was told if I get a letter from my SO group leader she will put the SO letter and her letter together and require a response. Nakohichi not sure how transferred I actually transferred but I remember the term interstate compact used.
