Last year i wrote the president about how unfair the sex offenders laws are also i stated i my letter that i was being forced from my home because of these laws well i got a e mail from him today and in it he said NOTING about the sex offender laws............................. Dear Friend:
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have heard from many Americans about the criminal justice system, and I appreciate your perspective.
As we work to improve security on our streets and in our neighborhoods, we are also fighting to build a more fair and balanced criminal justice system. All Americans deserve to be treated equitably as they enter this system, and to have opportunities after they pay their debt to society.
That is why I support the efforts of Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities to prohibit racial profiling -- a practice that has targeted too many Americans. I also support funding for drug courts, which give first-time, non-violent offenders a chance to serve their sentence -- if appropriate -- in drug rehabilitation programs that have often been proven to work better than prison.
In addition, my Administration is addressing the vast sentencing disparities faced by those convicted of possession of crack cocaine as compared to powder cocaine. Consequences should follow if you break the law, but our Nation must ensure that sentencing fits the crime. That is why I was proud to sign into law bipartisan fair sentencing reform to help right a long-standing wrong by narrowing these sentencing disparities.
Just as we must instill fairness within the criminal justice system, we must also create opportunities for those who want to turn their lives around. I am devoted to helping formerly-incarcerated people reenter society through programs that provide job training, work incentives, transitional assistance, and substance abuse and mental health treatment -- all methods which can reduce the likelihood that a person will return to destructive and criminal behavior.

Look here: www.senate.gov and www.house.gov. You can quickly find the ones who are in your jurisdiction.
I would also suggest contacting your local county and city elected officials. I have been amazed at how responsive these folks can be.
My boss, who is the head of our organization, is frequently involved with our elected officials on various issues. He usually meets with the aides or chiefs of staff, and not so much with the big guys. These people are very responsive and responsible to their constituents.
Every time I get a request to donate to Obama I reply with a note. "I will be happy to donate to your campaign if you would just reply to this email and answer a couple questions". "What was the reason you decided to NOT bring the troops home, as you promised"? "Where is health care reform"? These were the 2 reasons I voted for you. Thanks.

politicians infuriate me to the point that I really need someone else to do the real lobbying of them... cause I am just not that good of a sales person.
