Has anyone looked into filing a Writ after the RSO took a please deal because of ineffective council in the state of Texas or anywhere else I guess?

I’m not a lawyer, and I don’t know about Texas specifically, but from what I’ve read it’s pretty tough to prove your lawyer was ineffective. You would need some pretty strong evidence that your lawyer ignored that would make a competent lawyer think there would be a good chance to prevail at trial. This is really tricky because in most cases it is better for people charged with a sex crime to take a plea deal. It is extremely hard even if you are innocent to win at trial and when people go to trial and lose they end up with some truly ridiculous sentences. People convicted of child porn that did not take a plea deal can get sentences in the hundreds of years. HUNDREDS.

So it would take some very strong circumstances for a judge to overturn the guilty plea. I would encourage you to reach out to a criminal defense lawyer if you think your case might be in that arena.
