Father Daugher Dance- What do I tell our little gi
WorriedSickMD
My daughter age 9 came home from school so excited that they are having a father daughter dance at school for the 1st time. She is in 4th grade and has been at this school since Kindergarten... I just don't know what to say to her.
My husband is a registered sex offender on 3yrs probabtion right now. And cannot by Maryland law enter into a school (the dance is at school)
What do you tell your children?
Our 5yr old asks all the time why can't her Daddy pick her up at daycare.
This is tearing me up. What do I keep saying to them.

Your oldest daughter is probably coming to the age where you guys need to come up with a plan on how to tell her a little bit of the situation. Im sure she is at the age she wants to have friends sleepover. You guys just need to sit down and discuss what your going to tell your kids. Before other people tell them. This is just my opinion. I am no expert. But i am also married to a rso and have kids. My oldest is seven and pretty soon we will have to sit down and have a tough conversation. Good luck.

Our children are the ones that are being punished. I am lucky my husband is still activly involved with my son's activitys. He is allowed to go to the schools and be there for them. We had a conversation with the school after this happened and explained that he had no restrictions. We had to produce some paperwork from his PO saying this and that was over a year ago and have had no problems. I am so sorry that this is happening to all of you and it breaks my heart. I can tell you it would kill my children if there father could not be involved with them. All I can do is pray for change. I am not sure what everyones story is, and all of you know that my husband was arrested for CP and it kills me everyday to read how our men are being treated and all I can do is continue to fight!!!!!!

As a mother, I wish I had the magic words, or a magic pill to make this all better for everyone here and their families. Unfortunately, I dont...so I will continue to fight, continue to let others know what is happening, continue to show my support of SO's and their families. My heart breaks for those with children at home. I doubt seriously that my son will ever be a father, so that is one way I'm lucky in all of this. My heart goes out to each of you....keeping you all in my prayers.
