If she is asking people to do harm, yes you have a case.
If she is posting and saying he is a dangerous bad man, there really is nothing you can do. I've had this issue come up as well. Since it is public information we were told there is nothing we can do unless harm is being outwardly implied.
Spreading the word that he lives there does not imply harm unfortunately.
And not saying this is the way to go but--There are other ways to get back at her. Everyone has skeletons in their closet just got to know where to look.
I was told no action could take place such as moving me to a different area until something happens. Its been public knowledge since April, no harassment, no bricks through windows, no pitchforks. Be brave, that shirks them back more than anything!
She's mad that "he only got probation" so she's doing whatever she thinks she can do. She is simply upset that he did not marry her and she lives by herself...so at any rate as I appreciate it there's nothing we can do to stop that drunkard...Too bad that harassment is not something that we can bring up. It has been 5 years since she has last seen him and gets drunk and goes on Facebook and starts posting.
Thank you my friends! Once again you have come to give me insight! Hugs!
So far, those who've done us wrong...one dropped out of school, had 2 kids to 2 different daddies in her teens, no job, no driver's license, and was just diagnosed with thyroid disease. She was terribly obsessed with her looks, now she's gained a bunch of weight and is having all sorts of issues.
Two others, involved with all that, now have had THEIR home on the registry as their son is a SVP.
And another one is dead. His wife had an affair, and her lover boy shot him dead in the street.
It's sad, but it is what it is. When you give out that much negativity, it's bound to come back on you.
And Faery is right karma can be a wicked bitch. My ex best friend who made up and greatly exaggerated his statement to the police had his life implode over the summer. Lost his extremely well paying job and a bunch of other things, I couldn't help but smile when I found out.
Each state has different caveats on their registry pages. I know here in Texas you can share whatever you please from the registry. It does state you can not use the registry for harm. So, if no one is implying harm ie "go kill so and so," that is not harassment. If people start showing up at your house, that may be harassment depending on what is happening. It also depends on how sympathetic the LE is in your area. I know the LE in mine does not take harassment lightly.
Facebook's harassment policy isn't really enforced. Also, it is a Facebook policy that anyone convicted of a sex crime is not allowed on Facebook. If your fiance is on Facebook, he has zero clout with them. It is a touchy situation. Facebook doesn't care, trust me. The only way Facebook will care is if LE is involved.
Problem with FB is they can wield the ban hammer all they want but all you need to do is create an alternate account which is what most do and what my ex best friend did.
I am happy in your case something was done about it, but you mentioned the very problem that never goes away: everyone can just make a new account.
