Thanks Echo - the first one is good - it is great when these things show up on FB becasue we know they get a lot of exposure - I always feel if it even changes one persons thinking it is worth it. I have heard the argument before that the inflated registry does more to protect the truly bad folks but I am not 100% on board with that thinking - however any positive spin on the preposterous registry is a good thing. Although once again they are equating the "really" dangerous with the word pedophile - one of my pet peeves and it just drives me crazy!!

The law suit(s) by WAR are fabulous and I cannot wait to see the outcome!

Wow echo the first one is gold! What a concept, having the most dangerous people on it?? Even if this pairing down of the registry wouldn't have gotten me off the registry I'd still support it. We have way too many people on this list and it is s terrible thing to have to live under.

Yeah, these are good ones. I want to write to that lady, though. I personally know many "true pedophiles" who are not sex offenders. They are actually very nice people who are trying to live in a world where they can never act on their attractions.

Fortunately, support networks are starting to pop up. Although few people understand that pedophilia is something you are born with, the word pedophile has been jerked around to the point where it is used to describe anyone who behaves badly in a sexual way.

Still, the word seems to be favored by those with this kind of attraction. I've heard several say that it is the most descriptive and they can relate to it.

This lady's got the right idea about the registry, but she needs a bit o' educating.
