My husband is on parole in CA. He's had two pretty good POs so far. His current one went on vacation at the end of August, and the day before she's supposed to be back, her substitute had my husband arrested on a parole violation.

Supposedly loitering at a school--- only it was a Friday evening for 13 minutes while he was waiting for a bus with a neighbor. Then the substitute PO called me to let me know and to ask if he speaks to the children. Of course, I said. He asked how often and I said that it was nearly every day. He asked why. I answered that he likes to ask our son about his day and stay connected He then condescendingly tells me that doing that is a parole violation. Politely, I said that I believed he was, in fact, allowed to speak to his son. I said I understood that he was restricted from contact with female children. He put me on hold and then returned to say grudgingly that yes, it turns out he is allowed contact with his son.

However, since he included our daughter in his daily morning texts, he's violating his parole. I asked how he could be doing that when it is only a text message to MY phone. He said, "But he could be contacting her in other ways." I asked how in the world he could do that when she's only 2 years old!!! He says, "Oh, you mean your daughter's not the victim?"

He violated his parole without even knowing the terms of his parole!! And my children and I are 2000 miles away!!

So, silly me thought that this clarification would end it and my husband would be out. Nope. He still filed the paperwork as violating the terms of his parole for having contact with his son!!

Then, silly me again thought that the PD would LOOK at his case file and see the ridiculousness. Nope. Prior to the hearing, he says, "They're offering you a great deal---only 180 days. You should take it!" My husband asked if investigated the initial charge of loitering--- no. He asked if he'd looked at the terms of parole and noticed that the contact restriction WASN'T about his son--- no.

So he got a continuance until this week. I told him that when the charges are dropped for being ridiculous he should ask the judge to credit him these 30 days toward his parole as the very least they owe him for false charges.

When the substitute PO called me to tell me about this "violation" he kept going on about how my husband is such a DANGEROUS person and a THREAT to the community. When I said something about my husband's family and drama, he asked who that family would be. I said they could start with his mother, and he said, "That's L, right?" I said, no, that's his sister. "Oh, I thought S was his sister" and I said, "No, that's his daughter". He then said, "Who's M, then?"

He didn't know one *&^%& person in the history. He knew NOTHING, but rushed to arrest. What a pig!

Even though we're divorcing, he's still my best friend and I'm still furious that they can treat him this way. And I'm furious that it's more time I have to try to hide from my son that his father isn't always available by phone :(
