somom gave you the best advice. Exactly what I would have said also. I have made fighting for reform a part of my every day life. It was my way of jumping in to the pain and loss of my son. Through the efforts of this great team of people I work with here in Indiana, we have managed to help so many people. It's our way of helping those who need help, when we can't help our loved ones. I just pray for my members, that some day their good works will come back to bless them and their families as well.
One thing I have learned in the past 7 years.....it's not about ME. I hurt so deeply inside when I think about my son and his future that appears to be rotting away....... but there are literally hundreds of thousands of people in the same boat. And, unfortunately, that many more if we all don't step up and speak out.
I know that speaking out for some people isn't easy and some chose not to, but get involved behind the scenes to make a difference. There are multitudes of things we all can be doing to help reform these laws. If we don't fight for our loved ones, no one else will!
I know you hurt, we all are hurting. I pray for all of you as well as my son. Together, we can all make a difference.
Keep your eyes looking up! Know that you have people here that care and understand.
My prayers and hugs are with you!
I too can say I found myself on the floor in the storage closet of our home crying. Why? No reason other than I had just gone in there for a toothbrush, started to clean and rearrange it, but came across the kids' stocking stuffers and just got so sad. I sat on the stepstool and just cried, and questioned the why does it have to be this way and the "YOU should be here thoughts" i was screaming out to my husband across the wind.
So I keep busy, keep baking, keep cleaning, and keep plugging away. I am bound and determined to have Christmas with my babies not be ruined by this mess.
Missing: Take heart you are not alone, there are many people here for support, maybe bake goodies for a local nursing home? Visit the lonely residents there? Visit with neighbors, friends and other family, and try to find the one thing you can enjoy this season.
May you all be blessed this season!
