We need to protect our children this will always be the out cry of the public no matter how long the So has been free.
To change the Megans Law Why not use other So's who's crime's did not involve children and have been free for 20-55 years. To show this law makes no since.
I watched the news the other night a man fighting Megans Law made good points but as soon as someone said but our kids need to be protected, it did not matter what this man had said because they started to talk about his crime. If the word child comes up the debate is over.
Reading any debate about the Megans Web Site the word Child is alway used, so why is someone who never harmed a child on it? Therefore use them to fight this law.
No matter the topic like the school board wants more money they say ITS FOR THE CHILD but its for them. The child does not get the money they do but they use ITS FOR THE CHILD
This article does the same thing, they want to make changes but ITS FOR THE CHILD it stops them from going any further.

I understand wanting to protect children, but this law would not of protected my children as it was a family member that has never done this before. Is it not a fact that most sex crimes are committed by family or someone the children know. And just because they committed the crime once does not mean they will do it again. Puting them on a registry does nothing more than cause more problems for the SO as i see it. What about the drug dealers that give frugs to our children??? They go to jail and get out and do it again and there is no registry for them and of course there are those that learn and never do it again. There are so many different senerios for crimes toward children but the only one that has a registry is SO's. How is that fair.
