First of all i would like to say in no way shape or form am i at all raciest but after reading this story i was knocked out of my chair http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=8128621.This woman has broken the law by being in this country Illegally yet because she cries victim the LAPD or ICE are rethinking their policy on this. my main beef is the ACLU is helping her out WHAT!!?? i do not know how many times that i myself have written to the ACLU asking no begging for help because I AN AMERICAN CITIZEN was told that i had to move from my home because i was too close to a school oh they did write me back saying that they did not have the funds to help me but they can help someone in this country that is here ILLEGALLY!!?? but can't help someone who actually served in the armed forces and who's son is in Iraq right now???? did i miss something here? if the ACLU can come out and help this woman then why can't they help SO's with all of these unconstitutional laws?

That is totally crazy, firecracker!!! Cannot believe this. Is this what my husband is fighting to defend? He's an Air Force officer and vows to protect and defend the Constitution. I'm frustrated because I'm new to this process and going through it with my dad. He's two days into a 7 yr. sentence for possession and distribution of child pornography. Now that the feds are done with him, neither they nor his lawyer have given us any information about his condition, funds, contact with him, yet they can offer all this assistance to a woman not even protected by our Constitution? Firecracker, race has nothing to do with it. You have every right to be ticked off about it. I hope things get easier for you. Glad to find a group I can vent to and get information from. Good luck.

Misabissett i am so sorry to hear about your father i hope you will get news of him soon.I am still trying to wrap my mind around what the ACLU has done.and i know all to well about protection this country i was In the Marines myself and my oldest is in Iraq so if we had went to war when i was in and i had fought and or died for who's freedom mine? my family or for someone who years done the road can be in this country Illegally?and what is my son doing? putting his life on the line so she can be here? or for his country? i still have yet to figure it out take care and god bless...........

It's no different here in Utah, the Leg. passed an immigration enforcement bill that was less controversial than Arizona's law, but the "American Communist Losers Union" has still filed a lawsuit against the law(a stay was granted against the law, by,,,,wait for it,,,,,,A FEDERAL JUDGE NAMED WADDUPS WHO IS THE UNCLE OF STATE SEN. WADDUPS, WHO IS PRO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION).

Think about it, the ACLU defended(and won) a lawsuit defending the rights of the group NAMBLA, an OVERTLY PEDOPHILE ORG!
DO WE REALLY WANT THEM TO TAKE UP OUR CAUSE?
For me, HELL NO!

Misabisset, I can absolutely understand your frustration, I'm a combat Veteran and like your husband, Firecracker, and his Son, this is not the America we PROUDLY and SELFLESSLY risked our lives to defend.
I still LOVE my Country, but I HATE our Govt.

God bless all of you for your service. Firecracker, hope your son stays safe. As for the ACLU,the leaders of the civil rights struggle would flip if they had seen what became of their organization. I think, until we bring light to the struggle for understanding sexual addiction, things won't change. We have to be brave and forthcoming about sexual addiction and bring it out of the shadows and dark alleys.

Curly v. NAMBLA, Lawsuit.
U.S District Court in the District of Massachusetts, 2000. by Barbara and Robert Curley against NAMBLA.
The ACLU represented NAMBLA and was successful in getting the suit dismissed.
