So the back story is that a newly wed couple went searching on a legit 21 and over dating site for a third person to have sex with. Met with a young woman who portrayed herself as being of age and evidence suggests they went through with it although the couple says no. Come to find out the girl lied about her age and is only 15! Both husband and wife facing mandatory minimums, etc, etc.
Well the gung ho prosecutor sends the case straight to trial and puts the girl on the stand. This is what happens...

What people in general need to realize are that young girls are putting themselves out there for sex. People are usually very quick to say that these young girls don't know what they are doing BUT hold up! If the same young girl were to murder someone they all of a sudden know what they are doing and should be tried as adults. These people can't have it both ways.

go around half naked, dress like a slut or street walker then cry outrage if your treated that way or get your ass grabbed?. go to a party where there's a bunch of guys that you don't know, with a whole lot of alcohol being consumed, get hammered out of your head, have sex or pass out and get raped? what the hell do you expect???? people are born with brains, they need to use them!!!!
you don't want to be treated like a sleaze? then don't dress or act like one. you you don't want to have 'unacknowledged sex or get raped at a party? then don't get hammered or put yourself into that situation! and yes i know that most all rapes are about power, but getting raped at a drunken party while passed out in my opinion is not about power. it's more a crime of opportunity....
and for pities sake DON'T advertize yourself or answer ads for 3-somes!!!!
And I agree the state can't have it both ways. If that 15 year old were to have sex with a 13 year old she could be charged for a sex crime as an adult. But she is a a she and probably wouldn't get charged as an adult, however if it was a boy you better believe he would be charged as an adult.
So yes gender stereotypes help women most of the time in the Justice system and the state does whatever the heck it wants when it comes to deciding if you are an adult or a child when you commit your crime based on whatever the heck they feel like doing. It is a legal gray area and it shouldn't be. Either they are adults, or they aren't.
I completely agree that there are things that ladies can do to help prevent date rape, but I wouldn't go as far to say it is their fault if they do get raped. You have to blame the person doing the raping in my book. IF both parties are drunk then it is a mess and I'm not sure how that can be unraveled. I mean without alcohol how many less children do you think even married couples would have -- right?!?
and if there is alcohol involved and both of them are hammered? who's to who or which one did the "raping"?
