Are there any options left?

After my dad got out of jail is boss said they dont hire felons so he had to work for another company that does and had his work subcontracted through them so he could keep the job. Well that company wasnt paying him half the time and he got sick of it and got in a fight with them about it. They fired him. Now he has no job and his po wants him in a rehab program that costs 300 a month. With a job paying 10-15/h (if he can find one that hires felons) and signing up for government assistance he will still come up short with monthly bills and the program. His po doesnt care about his situation. Is there anything left to do? If he doesnt get a job he will go to prison for 4 years.

Does the rehab program offer any sort of income-based sliding fee that could lessen the cost?

He needs to go above his P.O.'s head and talk to the supervisor. If that doesn't work, then speak to that supervisor's supervisor and keep going up the ladder until he gets the problem worked out.

I absolutely agree with the above post....keep going up the ladder until the problem gets resolved. I've said this in another thread "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". Don't give up. Good luck.

If the PO is who wants your father to be in Rehab then they have to provide means to afford it. Otherwise it becomes "New Punishment" not ordered by a judge.

I saw many people in my group get their sessions totally for free while I had to pay.

Theres no sliding fee. He owes his lawyer over 10k and since he was fired he has no way of paying him. His lawyer doesnt want to do anything til he gets some kind of payment. it took 4 attempts to even get him to return my dads calls (understandably). So my dad is kind of on his own at this point. The previous program he was in tried to go above the judge with some of their rules so the judge told him he didnt have to go anymore. but the po wants him to stay in a program. So we arent sure if he doesnt have to go to just that program or any program at all. We are trying to figure that out now. We will try going up the ladder to get something done. His electric is getting shut off next week. Cant find anyone that will hire a felon.

He just informed me that he has to pay himself because its a condition of probation.

When his lawyer got him out of jail early it was part of the probation agreement and that he maintain employment. He had a really good paying job and didnt foresee being fired.
