Has anyone ever written to the DOC? If so, what was the outcome? How long did it take for them to respond to your letter, etc.

Your PO may tell you that they haven't heard anything while instead it's them not willing to process your request. If approved your new location PO would own your supervision, not your probation or parole. They can add to your conditions but cannot reduce any of them. I lucked out getting a PO that knew my late brother in law. His supervision has been like a friendship than supervision. Certainly nothing like Vermont!

My son is still in prison. They shipped him about 5 hours away from my home and its a private prison. He has learned that this prison is nothing like a state prison. The place he is in does not offer anything for good behavior. He has never been a drinker for the most part and he is going to AA so that he can get something on good behavior. Its a joke!
as far medical options there? it's a total joke. this is a women's prison. they have one GP for the entire population. the prison opened up to it's first prisoners last year but only recently installed a Gynecologist to take care of pap smears and other female issues. from what my daughter has told me every woman there that has went for a pap smear complains bitterly of pain afterwards because the dr is extremely rough.
