I'm new to this group. A few years ago 9 police officers stormed my home at 6 am with a warrant and took my then barely legal son away accusing him of having CP. He spent three days in jail and was released on bond. The only restrictions he had were no internet and don't own a device that has internet. So for four years I've paid his bills applied for jobs online that he couldn't keep because Google is the most powerful way to run your life, and kept him close and offline as instructed. Last year we sent him to truck driving school and he's been a driver for over a year and doing well. Then BAM in January when the statute of limitations to file charges was nearly up the DA hit him with the charges. Its taken 6 months, $25k in lawyers fees and countless sleepless nights to get here. Friday he took a plea. 7 years probation and he has to register as a sex offender. I'm not discounting the crime but there were only two movies apparently. The declined to prosecute one and only charged one count. My Child is a sex offense for watching a movie... No distribution no production. Is it wrong, yes. Is he a sex offender, no. There are far worse people actually physically hurting children. The videos he had contained consensual encounters with teens... No  its not right. But he himself was barely over his teen years.... Doesn't make him a sex offender. We live in a small town where everybody is related to everybody and everybody loves to blast shit all over facebook including the police departments. Good ole boys network here. My family is ruined. I  don't know how we will survive this.
