Yeah makes my blood boil. Do you know that Florida was one of the first states listed to be in compliance with sorna and they have never implemented any of it! No tier system. Nothing! They keep dead people on the list for goodness sake! I am not an advocate at all of a tier system that goes by the crime but in this case my son could get off the list in 10 years. I wrote to the. The problem with the tier system is that states can assign people to tiers totally arbitrarily. In MI, pretty much only people who committed crimes as minors got into Tier I. My husband is Tier II in MI. AFAIK, in CT and NJ, my husband would be on Tier I, and in NY and MN, he wouldn't be assigned a tier or on the registry at all.

It's such an arbitrary, badly-designed system, and people have NO IDEA. They still think the average person on the registry is like a repeat offender against small children.

I know you are correct - but some system would be better than what florida has which is life on the registry for everyone! even dead people!
