No information in the article about what the RSO was accused of, but I'll bet anything it was far less of a threat to the community that the weasel who burned his house—twice.

And I hope any would be vigilantes happen to stumble across this article! I really like that the Sheriff says he does not want to relocate the SO becasue it would set a precedent that the vigilantism worked. I am curious about he wording that they "placed" the So there - are there some places where the sheriff dept finds housing for RSOs? I also think (except for monetary damage of course) it seems that the only person that got injured was the arsonist! lol

In WI you are placed in the town you lived in when the crime was committed. I think.

I believe they do that so they aren't unfairly dumping all released SO into one area (said sarcastically).

They guy did get burned in the fire, apparently they arrested him and took him to the hospital to treat the burns.
