the group in new mexico did such a splendid job - there were two -three programs going at any one time. from 8:45-5:15 activity was everywhere and choosing was not always easy...i am not use to go-go-go and opted to miss a few here and there.. took breaks in between which means i missed more than others so my reporting will be limited.
the panel discussions were my favorite..a much more open and interactive forum. it let us discuss our concerns with people who gave us solid well researched advice...whether it is what you want to hear or not.
National Registry Reform: panel participants in the psychiatric field -Eric Imhof, Phil Taylor and George Geyson - Assessment and treatment experts...and a good source for anyone looking for answers regarding the assessment testing. they each brought their specialty to the table keeping the topic fresh.
Model Registry Reform: panel of attorneys included..Norm Pattis, Scott Pawgan (a great go to attorney very knowledgeable about the everyday laws we face), Amy Borror and Melissa Hill- each one of them very impressive on their own.
the lectures were all engaging as well...not a yawner in the bunch. Norm Pattis is a favorite and i can see why, he is very animated and says it like it is - dropping the f bomb here and there...funny as there has been a lot of talk about cussing on xsos. he was very approachable...though he wanted to make sure everyone understood (at least three or four times lol) that he does nothing for free... which was my sediment as well.... it is costly putting together a case, and though it is a tremendous source for us to have access to such brilliant professionals - they do not work for free! ----ok, moving on.......Janice Bellucci is a powerhouse inspiring speaker...WOW! is all i can say about her...she is in the california rsol chapter and everyone wanted to kidnap her...i wonder if she made it home without being abducted...lol- ’. overall from what i saw and heard not a moment was wasted - all speakers were excellent and stayed on topic.

I know that there are many who would have liked to have attended, but couldn't. This was my first conference experience. It was simply amazing, if not educational and yet emotional. What impressed me the most were the people who have given so much to make our live better.

Start planning now, you will not regret it. It was the best thing I could have done for myself, and my family.It was almost indiscribable meeting those who I have either talked to or have heard about for so many years.
The conference most likely will be held in California in 2013. At least that is the word we got. While far for some, it is (in my opinion) important that it is held here for many reasons.
We have approx. 200,000 registrants. The registries started in Ca.and other states started following suit. Hopefully, we can end it here as well, and other states will again follow suit. We are in the battle of our lives with so many counties and cities within our state producing their own ordinances and restrictions, as if our state doesn't have one of the harshes laws in the land. Yes, Janice is our hero, and we know how lucky we are to have her on our side, working for the civil rights of our citizens. Just remember she is working for you too, even though you live in another state, we are "all in this together".
