The neighbors called the fire department, AGAIN. While the fire departments here, (they're drunk, I heard them being drunk as soon as I came out to start the fire) she comes out and says "is there a PROLEM HERE?" I had just started my fire so it was "smoking" and they made me put it out. I told the fire department the problem is them, they keep calling the fire department and cops on us when we aren't doing anything but being quiet and minding our own business. Drunks McGee (my man was upstairs SLEEPING. it's just me out there) comes out drunk yelling obscenities (use your imagination) so I called the cops. They said well, you have a sex offender here, so people don't take that well. CAll the prosecutor. If we keep getting calls, well send you to community counseling. I can't take this anymore! We are seeing a lawyer Monday about getting visitation with his son. We cant have community counseling on his file. They are harassing us. We don't have money to get a security camera for a while. His car just got totalled when someone smashed into him. I've liveded here years before these people without problem, including after when he moved with me, until the notification cards came out. I feel so bullied and helpless!!!!Both neighbors are unstable drunks and I'm afraid for our safety and our dogs!! We don't have the ability to move right now!!!!!
I know that I am yelling it, but it is necessary to get my point across that it is so very important that you do this. Harassment can be a criminal act, especially if it can be proven that it has happened over an extended period of time with no provocation.
1. Document every time they vandalize, threaten, etc. be it by writing it down in a journal, video recording, voice recording or all those things.
2. Each time they do these things after you document it, CALL THE COPS. In this case they are still not your friends, but they are required to document every call, which is in your favor.
3. Call the prosecutor each time they harass you as well. document that call to them, if you can record that conversation as well would be good too.
Be sure to find out about the wiretapping laws and call recording laws in your state, as they all vary.
ALL CITIZENS AFTER THEY ARE RELEASED FROM CUSTODY ARE DESERVING OF PROTECTION FROM OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS. Don't even bring it up to LE, if they do not want to do their job. Document it. Eventually you will have notebooks and thumb drives full of documentation with dates, times and descriptions, possibly other visual aids and things too. At that point, you can file a complaint with the police department or the prosecutors office. At that point they will have to do something or you will again document again... this time, you'll have ammo for civil proceedings... it all depends on what you are willing and able to do.
