Wow! So sorry Duppy. Those people are nuts. And those cops are wrong. I don't know about your state but at the beginning of the website for the registry in my states it says clearly that the registry cannot be used to harass people. There may be something like that on your state's website, too. Being a sex offender does NOT give others the "right" to harass. Hope you find a way out of this. Peek

Friends were having a valdalisim problem at their 3 family building. They found one of those huge old cam corders at a tag sale. Mounted in on the peak of the garage. The nonsense stopped. Been over 5 years now w/ no problems.

You can buy a fake security camera on ebay for about $10....if you made a big production of putting it up and hooking up wires and such it just might convince the neighbors you're serious.

Even posting a sign stating that there is video surveillance makes a difference IK have several generic images if you need one....

As much as I do not trust LE in this case I would contact someone - do you have a local officer that is the one that comes around periodically to "check" on you? I would contact them and report that this is harassment and misuse of the public services - calling the FD or LE when they KNOW there is not a problem is against the law in ANY state. I know we forget this but it IS against the law to harasser anyone even registered citizens! If you do not get any support from LE I would write a letter and send it out en masse to all local politicians, the prosecutors office, the state, the emergency services oversight, etc (you get the idea) I would state in the letter that LE and the FD did not do anything (I know for a fact the FD is supposed to report misuse of the system) I would also emphasize that YOU are not a registered citizen and you deserve the protection of LE without comments about your family members - and let me just say - How dare they say anything to you about the registered citizen???

I know that I am yelling it, but it is necessary to get my point across that it is so very important that you do this. Harassment can be a criminal act, especially if it can be proven that it has happened over an extended period of time with no provocation.

1. Document every time they vandalize, threaten, etc. be it by writing it down in a journal, video recording, voice recording or all those things.

2. Each time they do these things after you document it, CALL THE COPS. In this case they are still not your friends, but they are required to document every call, which is in your favor.

3. Call the prosecutor each time they harass you as well. document that call to them, if you can record that conversation as well would be good too.

Be sure to find out about the wiretapping laws and call recording laws in your state, as they all vary.

ALL CITIZENS AFTER THEY ARE RELEASED FROM CUSTODY ARE DESERVING OF PROTECTION FROM OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS. Don't even bring it up to LE, if they do not want to do their job. Document it. Eventually you will have notebooks and thumb drives full of documentation with dates, times and descriptions, possibly other visual aids and things too. At that point, you can file a complaint with the police department or the prosecutors office. At that point they will have to do something or you will again document again... this time, you'll have ammo for civil proceedings... it all depends on what you are willing and able to do.

Thanks all, it just keeps getting worse. Yesterday the health department showed up for a complaint about dog poop and flies in the back yard, and his bumper that has been on the side of our house(out of sight) since last week when his car got smashed into. (Waiting fir insurance to officially total out the car)We keep a clean house, no poop or flies, and they even said we weren't doing anything wrong but still also said "if we have to come out again we wont be as nice" . They went first to the "annonymous" neighbor to knock on his door, but they didn't answer. But then walked out, got in car, Sat a minute, and left while health dept was in our back yard!!!I went to the prosecutor, she was very supportive, gave me her card, said to file a REPORT and get the report #each time to help substantiate a harassment charge, which she said I could press charges then, but suggested to get more police reports fist since all I have now are incident records. They are sending them a letter to say stop harassing us or criminal charges will be filed. Hopefully that helps, or hopefully they harass us more and I can file reports and press charges. I just feel so overwhelmed and stuck and depressed. It makes matters worse that my boyfriends no contact order with is son is up next month, stress is very high here. He keeps saying he's going to attend the petition hearing, and try to get,it stopped, although it is also a condition of his parole, but that is up in Nov, so this is what will start the process of fighting for visitation with his son, but then he turns around and does things,to sabotage that ever happening. And we just fight, and fight, and fight, because I'm not willing to sit by idly and watch him hang himself...I don't know how much more I can take..I'm ready to check myself into a psych facility because I feel like my anxiety and depression are getting uncontrollable (have had a handle on that for 10yrs..) but I know if I do that it'll wreck my job and work reputation should Wed ever get,out I'm in the hospital for "going crazy". I'm feeling completely hopeless and feel that I'm not the right person for him to support him....
