My son is still asking for a pen pal. Am I breaking any rules or is it just a bad idea to give out any information including the prisons mailing address? In spite of my son's conviction, he's still vulnerable and I don't want to do or say anything that would cause more problems for him. I still want to advocate for him but I'm afraid that anything I say or do could work against him.
Sometimes when I think of him in that place, I think of him when he was young and confused and not understanding what he was feeling and how to ask for help. He was suffering then and he's suffering now. I know I'm not the only Mom here. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going to be able to hold on until he gets out and then I remember all the struggles he will face on the outside. It seems like it just doesn't end! Just venting.
