Well.. the head of ICE in Florida who was in charge of my son's sting is in prison. They caught him with cp on his computer.
I didn't see that change anything.
Glad he's there tho.

A little more info on the Florida trial, the defendant was a 23 year old airman that had been stationed overseas in Korea for the past three years. He had only been home 6 hours on 30 days leave when he was arrested in a sting. He answered an ad on Craigslist clearly labeled as adult. Apparently early on the decoy investigator revealed an age of 17 and sent pictures of an actual 17 year old. In Florida a 23 year old having sex with a 17 year old is not illegal. From what I've been told so far the decoy then asks him "What are you in to" and he says "fucking in public...I love the thrill....He never asks the decoy to do anything sexual. The decoy then volunteers saying "I'd be down for that".

I don't know the exact point in the conversation but sometime after learning their investigative target was only 23, the decoy revealed the "true" age of "14". After that the defendant tells the decoy she's too young and they can just hang out, nothing more. He goes to Walgreen's to meet her shortly after that where he's arrested and charged with 3 felony counts.

I still don't have a name or even what county this occurred in but the defense attorney was Peter D. Aiken of Aiken, O'Halloran and Associates. Any mistakes in the account are probably mine as I'm getting this third hand for now.

Usually that kind of thing does help get convictions overturned and cases dropped. One thing to remember though is that if a conviction is final, any benefit from wouldn't be automatic. Something would have to filed to reopen the case before any issues would be looked at.

Several cases ended up being overturned or dropped after a similar situation became public in Dumfries VA.

Wow really Nako? Bittersweet justice huh? I have also heard of things like that causing cases to be overturned.

My son plead guilty. If he went to trial, then maybe.. but he didn't. so there's nothing to overturn.

Just because a plea agreement came into play doesn't mean hope is lost, it just means that it is harder to do... If the case's circumstances and verdict would help your son, it doesn't hurt to have an attorney take a look at the circumstances now and see if there is an avenue to pursue legally.

If I recall your son, Nakohichi, has a pretty lengthy sentence, so it might be worth the look.

I am trying to understand why we are doing these online stings. We have the technology to find the underage children who enter the adult sites. If we want to save a child, we should be finding the child. I thought I would do a little research. We have approx. 780,000 people on the sex offender list. About 5-10% are sexual predators. We have children on this list, we have people who pee outside, we have cross dressers, people who download sexual pictures defined by Tanner rule, now we will have people who fantasize about sex. We are increasing the list by 23% per year. In 5 years we will have 2,195,938 on the Sex Offender List. (mostly MEN we are targeting). Where is all this money coming from? I did some more research. The state receives grants from the Federal to do these online stings. The state is going to be stuck with the cost of housing, medical,feeding and keeping track of all these people. The Federal is BROKE so they borrow the money from CHINA. Now Florida is my home state, we are increasing the list by 74%. In order to support this, our taxes are going to increase. Channel 10 news(WTSP) is the only station that is reporting the expenses in Polk County.

Now I did more research on the arrest in Polk County last year. Most got probation and 3 of the 4 counts dropped but they all ended up on the Sexual Offender List. So the goal is not to put them away the goal is to increase the Sexual Offender List. Something is not right!!

Just so you don't start calling me names, I am a 60 year old women, never arrested, never been on a sexual site or looked at any sexual pictures. I do not have any family members on the Sexual Offender List but I am opposed to having such a list in the United States of America.
