I'm about to celebrate! No, it is not my birthday.
Our son was arrested on his dad's birthday. He lived twelve hours away. After two years of fighting the system, he was sentenced and taken off to prison on his dad's birthday.
It wasn't easy but we made it through that nightmare. And he was released...on his dad's birthday.
We/He made it through three years of parole and three years of the dreaded ankle braclet (GPS) a nightmare initself. All the horrible restrictions, the tears, the fears, the agony.
Next week, his dad will celebrate another birthday. Only this time, on his birthday the ankle braclet will come off, he will be done.
I know it's not over,(our state has life time registry for every offense) I know that I will never stop fighting, but.....I feel like we are survivors. Yes, we have survived the most horrific ordeal that hopefully we will ever have to live through.

The horribe restrictions, GPS, unkind uneducated people, were hard to bare at times. Like you, our family has been through hell. I can't believe we are still intake. At times, I didn't think we could ever recover.
Grief stricken, heart broken, we managed to hold on tight as a family.
We believed in our son, we fought along side.
We have lost friends, but were they ever our friends? After this, at least you know who your real friends are.
I just want to encourage people to not give up. Stand up for those you know and love. Speak out if you can
Keep your faith, and follow the Golden Rule. . Do whatever it takes to find a way to gain strength as you move forward through your grief.
