I am flying to my home state tomorrow for a family get together. I was planning to drive originally. Now with time restraints i have to fly. I was to visit my daughters ex boyfriend in prison. As most of you know...i consider him family. Still love and support him. But know i do not have the time or transportation to see him.

Last december when i had to fly there, i was able to visit him. Thankfully i got to visit him without being on his list because i lived in another state. Our plan was to see him in june when i was there. He and i looked forward to it. I wrote him last week to break the news.

I will get to see his parents, but it still gets me down to not visit him. And i am sure he feels the same. Afterall visits and letters are important to those in prison. They dont have much to look forward to. While the rest of us are going about our business, they are stuck in limbo.

I hate to make plans and then have to cancel. May seem small to us but not to them.

Any ideas or suggestions for future plans to visit him? Do i just tell him it is unknown when i can see him next? Or do i make plans knowing they can be cancelled?
