Had the police at my door earlier. They are v nice, I'd met one previously, but it's still not a pleasant experience. They were in plain clothes, which was something, but all three kids were here...My husband tentatively mentioned to his PO yesterday that we want to work towards him getting a place near me (he's currently living 2 hours away). They were pretty quick off the mark, checking I knew and understood his conditions etc. I think he's freaked them out tbh, as the local lot are rushing to do a risk assessment on him this afternoon, which was scheduled for several weeks' time lol. He only said we were *considering* him moving! I look forward to the time when our every breath isn't under scrutiny...ten years to go. Hey ho lol
"Recidivism" lumps it all together and so much depends upon whether the Parole officer wants to push the "letter of the rules" and claim he "scored" or whether he really wants to protect kids and see some kind of restorative justice work for the whole family.
To them it's all counted as "recidivism" and "off to jail or prison with him.." If he has a restriction on where he lives or on who he may or may not see, you have to be compliant too or else...at least for the next ten years! And , yes, LOL better that than "off to prison for you too"...driving back and forth to visit him in prison, right? But it can all be such a pain...
