Welcome to this chat support group .we are all here if you need to talk or pray or have opinions about anything .also .praying for your situation and lives..we all going thru something in this life with loved ones on registry.my hub situation past 1998 before he was saved .but in 2001 he was saved . And 2009 they charged him. I dont knoe how everyone ablr to deal with it all.but i look at that God is bigger mightier and most powerful .then anything anyone in world .and he is right there to keep us strong and get thru each day .hes alsi a God that can change these man made laws in twinkle of an eye..and hes merciful and forgiven past .that if God dont condem .people shouldnt either.my hub past forgiven .cast to depths sea never to be remembered again.and when devil wants to try bring him down .God picks him up and tells him his past was forgiven and to cont press on.Gbu huggs .may the Lord bring you both comfort peace that surpasses all understandinf .hope and a strong bond connection with each other and the Lord .and holy spirit guide your steps.use wisdom in making any decision and holy spirit work thru u all to witness our blessed savoir Jesus .give words to speak .Hope to talk with you again .signed hurting family

My husband is serving 30 yrs unless we get a Sentense reduction, we won't know what it will be like afterwards, but there are several who have loved ones who have been released and those whom were convicted and served their time.
Not many know our situation, as many who do, drop out of our lives. There are some who are open minded, and are supportive. Either way, you always have us to listen and give advice without judgement. Welcome to the group.

Welcome to the group. This group is very supportive and will help you through anything! My son is still incarcerated, (he has been there 2 months and has a 3 yr sentence) so I can't help but I am sure it is like anything else. You go day by day and one day you realize its easier than you thought! Take care!!

Welcome to the group! My husband is not home yet either, but like you, his offense was committed before I met him. We are now living through the prison term itself. I am not sure what our life will be like when he does get out, but I know what our life was like before he went in and I know we are strong enough in our relationship and faith to get through whatever life may throw at us. I have a feeling that things will not be easy for us in the beginning, but we will adapt and persevere. Just having him home will make a huge difference to me.

As for telling others, I do not hide the fact that my husband is in prison or why. I am not saying that I broadcast our life or his incarceration to everyone I meet, but...I do not hide it if I am asked where he is. What I have found by doing this is that some people will be open minded and others will jump to pass judgment very quickly. The people who pass judgment are people we do not need in our lives anyway, so it makes it much easier for me to weed them out from the get go.

We will forever be stuck with the stigma and the registry, so in my mind, there is no reason to keep things quiet. The more people who can be educated, the better, in my opinion.

Our safety and the safety of my family is my biggest concern.
