I got word tonight that my fiancé is being let out of prison earlier than expected. He was supposed to be released May 11th and I am excited but also sad because my last attempt at getting him a place to stay ended with a denial of the application. I am going to pick him up tomorrow but I have no place for him to stay and none of the halfway houses will accept a sex offender. I just need some prayers to make sure that I can handle all the emotions and the difficult road that we have ahead of us. I am excited and nervous and sad and anxious and have no idea what the heck we are going to do but all I can think about is how good it will be to be able to hug him and hold him without the eyes of the correctional officers all over us like we are some sort of criminals. I am so glad that I have you guys here to talk to. I will soon see which of my friends are real and which of my friends are going to walk away. I have prepared myself for all of them to walk but I pray that we will be left with some support as soon as things get hard.

Check into motels that have kitchenettes that rent by the month until you find something permanent

So, he can't stay with you? If not, hopefully, a friend could give him a room for now until you figure things out. It will all work out in the end, trust me.

Good luck to you. I hope it works out, and I hope you have friends who step up and support you.

I went through an agency similar to Habitat for Humanity which got me and my two boys a brand new house. A house that is too close to a school based on twenty feet of property the school apparently owns in the woods behind our house.....so he cannot live with me and we still have not been able to get the protective order on the kids completely lifted. He does have supervised visitation. Thank you for the support.

Sending you guys positive thoughts. Can he stay with any of his mates? Iam sure it will work out somehow.

I'm delighted to hear that he's getting out early! That's a really big deal, isn't it? But with that joy comes a puzzle and a challenge. Do you have any health care providers who staff case managers? Their job is to figure out puzzles and overcome challenges, right? I wish you courage and strength and wisdom in these days ahead.

Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? Is he on probation? I know probation officers can give a list of certain places that will house sex offenders, possibly they could help with your situation. Sorry to hear that your home does not meet his requirements. I know how difficult that is. Prayers are being sent your way!

I know sometimes it's not the facilities themselves, but laws of the state. For example, no halfway house or treatment center is allowed to accept a SO. Which is sad, everyone else is able to get help for their issues, except the SO!

Well he registered today and they basically put him on lockdown in the hotel we found for him. They said he can't see the kids or be around his sister until the paperwork catches up with him and were total aholes about his charges. He is sitting there locked down in his hotel room until further notice. sigh. we knew this was going to b like this but it breaks my heart. All of his paperwork.says he is allowed supervised visitation.with the kids but all they see is his label. We waited all this time for his release and we get a jerk right out the gate. Deep breathes. I hope we can just be our little family soon. @raye-tennessee
