We have tried to work out a plea deal that we all are comfortable with, but the DA will not back down on 23-25 yr sentence. My daughter doesnt want to testify against her father - she loves him, and doesnt want to see him gone forever. The DA has no evidence besides her testimony. If they don't back down, does anyone know if she will be FORCED to testify?

My husband since his incarceration has found God and is deeply sorry for his actions and doesn't want to put her through this, but they are pushing for a life sentence (for him as he is 50). She has pleaded with the DA to only give him 2-4 years, that she doesn't want to loose her dad- but they think I and my husband is being manipulating her. They even said that her asking for a sentence is too much for her - that she shouldn't have to think/worry about it; however, they are supposed to take her wishes into account.

Seems like they only want to listen to victims if it aligns to what they want and are pushing for. They cant believe that she is willing to forgive, and believe that he is a changed person (instead of Once a SO, Always a SO).

Sorry for the ranting, but I am so frustrated!
