I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas knowing that we're all missing at least one that we wish could be home with us. I love this season and what it represents but confess that I've had to work through the sadness too.
We have family nearby that want to be together on Christmas day, including two granddaughters, so that helped
put us in the mood to put up a tree and bring out all the decorations I've collected over the years. My collection includes those unrecognizable ones made of "play doe", the ones my son made in grade school. They just happened to be the first ones I put on the tree this year and I had to fight back the tears.

We're having some of the family over for breakfast Christmas morning so "Betty Crocker with whiskers", my husband, is making cinnamon rolls from scratch. I'm doing other things to get ready.

Yes, Christmas is sad this year, I didn't even put up a tree.

Thank you very much for the warm greeting. And the same to you, my friend. I hope everyone who is going through a situation similar to all of ours can find the strength and courage to at least enjoy Christmas Day. I will try and wake up with a smile on my face rather than shed tears because I miss my daughter so much.

We wouldn't be normal if we were not missing a family member or friend that is incarcerated during the holiday season. It is always hard. I always hope that they get served a special meal for Christmas and that is somethiing special they can enjoy. Hoping anyway.

Merry Christmas all! This has been a tough Christmas but still blessed. I'm glad to have my mom and my babies. I'm stilling holding on that next year we can be together again!

I've hated everything since Thanksgiving. I am so thankful that this season is OVER. The tree only got put up for my kiddos but I am SO ready for it to go back into the attic for the next year!

It has been a difficult season - first one with five more to go. I did not put my decorations up this year - it is the favorite for my husband. I have tried very hard to stay composed in the midst of everyone else's joy and it has been exhausting. I don't think anyone outside of this "place" can or would understand that - I made it through all the days but now - alone again my body has crashed into a deep despair. My focus is on my trip to see him next month - so ever thankful for that .... love to all!

I also had a great Christmas! Just having my son home with me this year and knowing how blessed we've been this year made it great.

Last year I didn't put up a tree. Just wasn't in the mood.

I must say I had a really nice Christmas, had a nice quite dinner with the family and my hubby, watched Good Eats (a family tradition) played in the snow with the dog. Then the day after, I went bargain hunting (my favorite lol!) Got some nice Axe sets for $1.25 each after coupon...gifts for later on this year.
Then yesterday and the day before I got play with the troll too, it was quite entertaining ;-)
