My heart and thoughts are with you. I can't stand the not knowing. I still have no clue on levels and how u ascertain them, much less lowering them. My son will only say it is all about the PROBATION officer. I am picking him up at O'hare(chicago) airport March 11 and driving him to Michigan City Ind, half way house, Bradley Center for 3 months supposedly. I know little else and am not sure he knows anymore than me.
He can not live with step mom and me because we have a 15 year old daughter here. I have no idea about job or where he will live, how he will get money, and many, many many more things.
It has been a long 5 years and I know many other loved ones have much longer incarceration periods. I just hope and pray he doesn't due something stupid and try to get away with something or some rule. Not worried about sex stuff just maintaining regulations and terms of probation.
We don't have an attorney but will find our way.
NAK i am so happy for you and your to be together again. I wish and hope for the best!!!!!
ByeBye
Please make sure he does not let it get to him. Unfortunately, you never get used to it but you do come to accept it. I am sure his Tier will be dropped. I hope he has his Supervised Release reduced.
BTW, where did he register, Belmont?
sorry
He went to Belmont. He was supposed to be able to register at the probation office, because laws changed and made that the place to register, but they haven't gotten it al together there yet, so we had to drive out to Belmont.. along with about 6 others in the waiting room who were also there for registration.
The lawyer said he's sure his tier will be lowered. But reading the laws about out of state SOs coming in they're to be put on tier 3. . maybe that's until he's checked out. I don't know. They like to scare the crap out of you.
We'll be seeing his real probation officer sometime next week I think and learn more about things.
I would stick with the State Police. They were, except for one, always very respectful. Also, they thought the process was a stupid waste of time.
The only thing I know about out of state registrants is those that were previously registered in another state, keep that level. Your son was not registered in Florida. That may make a huge difference.
Hope all goes well. Keep me posted.
My son said if we were in Floriduh the attitude of the southerners would have been a lot different. And I agree.
Glad to be in Philly. He has an appointment with his real Probation officer on Monday, so we'll see what happens.
As for being in Philly, I love the city. Never had a problem and never will.
As for the State Police, same with them. They do not want to lose their jobs over something stupid, so they treat you well. I had one Trooper register me a number of times, including my last. We went out to lunch after it was over.
